Ferguson set to beat Arsenal in race for £12m teenager

Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be lining up a big money move for Lille starlet Eden Hazard. The Manchester United boss is keen to bring in the Belgian youngster and appears to be leading the chase for talented goalscoring midfielder.

Lille will demand up to £12m for the 19 year old as they appear likely to lose Hazard as he looks to have outgrown his Ligue 1 club. Ferguson has been looking to bring in top young talent as he hopes to build up a new generation of quality as his old guard nears the end of their glittering careers.
Hazard has long been linked with a move to Arsenal and the interest from Man United may well spark a bidding war with some sources close to the player believing he may be more interested in a move to Old Trafford than to north London.
Whilst the fee may appear inflated for a player of tender years it is worth noting that Hazard is now in his fourth season in the Lille first team and has also proven his worth in European competition, chiefly with some good displays in last year’s Europa League fixtures. The adaptable midfielder can play in a number of advanced roles and is now a regular in the Belgian national team.
