“Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Aston Villa for the transfer of Ashley Young,” a statement on the club’s website read.“The player passed a medical in Manchester this week and has agreed a five-year contract.”
United did not give details of the transfer fee but local media estimated it to be around 15 million pounds ($24 million). It is their second English signing this month, having brought in defender Phil Jones from Blackburn Rovers.
