Graham Poll: Chelsea once again fell foul of a poor penalty decision

Former Premier League referee Graham Poll concedes Chelsea should have had a penalty against Manchester United in the Champions League.

He explained to the Daily Mail: “Chelsea once again fell foul of a poor penalty decision in the Champions League when Patrice Evra brought down Ramires late on.

“The referee was looking through players and struggled to see whether the France defender had nicked the ball first.

“UEFA are huge supporters of the additional official positioned behind the goal-line and this incident is exactly what he is there for.

“He had a clear unobstructed view and yet failed to help the referee.”
