Contract stalemate could force Arsenal to sell Nasri

Arsenal are prepared to sell Samir Nasri this summer if he fails to agree a new contract at The Emirates.

Talks have been on-going between the club and Nasri’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes but so far no agreement has been reached.

Wenger is confident the player will stay, but if the stalemate continues Nasri will have only one year left on his deal with the club – and there would be threat that he could let it run down and leave on a free transfer in the summer of 2012.

That was the scenario with Mathieu Flamini three years ago when he allowed his contract to expire and eventually moved to AC Milan as a free agent. Arsenal want to avoid a repeat and if the deadlock is not broken, then the France international would be sold for a fee close to £12million.
