Capello chooses El Classico over Wembley showdown

Fabio Capello turned his back on English football on Saturday to watch the big game in Spain instead of his taking his seat at Wembley.

The England manager was expected to attend the Manchester derby FA Cup  semi-final but decided to stay in Madrid to watch ‘El Clasico’ — Real Madrid against Barcelona.

It is sure to give further ammunition to those who have claimed that Capello’s heart is
no longer in his job after his World Cup failure and is only going through the motions as England manager.
