Liverpool's public enemy number one Gary Neville - the man who once said he "can't stand Liverpool" - is actually a scouser himself.
The former Manchester United and England defender, now a TV pundit, only discovered his family ties to Merseyside when appearing on a Sky TV game show, A League of Their Own, which is to be aired on Friday evening.
The programme's researchers investigated Neville's family history for the programme, discovering that two of his great, great, great grandparents were from Liverpool.
This revelation clearly hit Neville hard - and no wonder, considering that he once said, "I can't stand Liverpool, I can't stand Liverpool people, I can't stand anything to do with them." He responded by uttering a rather naughty word, after which he was presented with a Liverpool shirt bearing his name by the programme's host - but the Red Devils legend refused to hold the shirt up for the camera.
