Aston Villa bid for Wigan's Charles N'Zogbia

According to BBC Sport and Press Association Sport, Aston Villa have made a £10 bid to sign Wigan Athletic winger Charles N'Zogbia.

Aston Villa thought to be keen to sign the Frenchman to fill the void left by the departure of winger Ashley Young and the expected exit of Stewart Downing.

Ashley Young was sold to Manchester United earlier this summer and Stewart Downing is in talks with Liverpool after the clubs agreed a fee on Tuesday.

N'Zogbia, 25, has made almost 250 appearances in English football, with Wigan and former club Newcastle.
