Barcelona may have trouble funding a move for Cesc Fabregas after the Champions League holders claimed they have only 45 million euros to spend on new signings this summer.
Javier Faus - Barcelona's vice-president of finance - said that the Spanish champions would have "45 million euros for new signings, plus money that may be obtained from sales that may occur this season.
"When we talk about sales we’re talking about those that give a net gain to the club.
"The Spanish Super Cup match, where season ticket holders will pay for their tickets, will bring in some three million euros of revenue."
"The gross debt has been reduced from 532million euros to 483million euros, and the net debt from 431million euros to 364million euros," he said.
"We want to decide our future and to do so we must reduce the debt to acceptable levels.
"There has been a great effort, which will continue over the next two years, to reduce this debt...a millstone that is essential and indispensable.
"This will make Barcelona the most financially solvent club in the world in two or three years."
