Dani Alves to Manchester City this summer

The 27-year-old Brazilian has a contract with Barcelona that runs until 2012, but has been unable to agree an extension to that deal with the Catalan club and now Spanish sources are suggesting that this talks are very close to dying.

Manchester City have been linked with the player in the past, but with the current situation not being resolved it is believed that the English club is ready to offer the player an €8-million-a-year contract until 2016.

There has also been speculation that Chelsea would challenge Manchester City for Alves' signature, should he become available but it seems that they wouldn't be ready to match Manchester City's offer if it turns out to be true.
