The London side have recently been made aware of Aguero’s original £50 million buy-out clause dropping by some £10 million. Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is believed to keen on bolstering his squad in the January transfer window as his side continues to struggle to stay in touch with the top three sides in the Premier League after a disastrous run of form. The Blues have expressed an interest in signing Aguero in the past but were put off by the demands made by Atletico Madrid.
The 22-year-old’s new contract with the Spanish club, however, comes with a much lower buy-out clause and has tempted Chelsea into considering making a bid.
