United eye shock swoop for £6 million European sensation as Scholes successor

Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.

According to talkSPORT, the Red Devils have been keeping tabs on the 21-year-old who joined Bundesliga side Hoffenheim from Reading for £6 million in the summer.

However - despite the reported interest from both Manchester United and Arsenal - the Iceland international is currently content at the German club.
